Abstract

The preceding article deals with the plant cinquefoil (potentilla erecta). Through reference to the literature, legal decisions, and resolutions made by annual landowners' meetings in Faroese villages there is given — with speoial reference to the Faroe Islands — a disquisition on the plant as follows: I. Distribution etc; II. Place in the plant kingdom and descriplion; III. Names; IV. Use in medicine; V. Digression on tanning; VI. Tanrving with cinquefoil root; VII. Other uses of oinquefoil; VIII. The legal right to dig cinquefoil root.
