About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Fróðskaparrit is the Faroese Scientific Journal.
It is published by Fróðskapur – Faroe University Press with financial support from Føroya Fróðskaparfelag – the Faroese Society of Science and Letters.
Fróðskaparrit is published Open Access on ojs.setur.fo. Papers from all scientific fields are invited in any Scandinavian language or English as long as their topics pertain to the Faroes.
Peer Review Process
All manuscripts received will be evaluated by the board of editors and at least one independent reviewer.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Journal History
Fróðskaparrit is an annual review with scientific articles from and about the Faroe Islands and Faroese issues. The articles are from all scientific fields and are mainly written in Faroese (mostly Humanities and Social Sciences) or English (Natural and Life Sciences). 66 issues have been published in printed volmues. From issue 67 the publication is online only.
The editors of Fróðskaparrit are Eyðfinn Magnussen, Hans Andrias Sølvará, Marin Strøm, and Malan Marnersdóttir. All staff at the University of the Faroe Islands.
