Volume 31. Editorial remarks:
With this volume, the ANNALES SOCIETATIS SCIENTIARUM FÆROENSIS are altered both in appearance and in the arrangement of the material. They are considerably wider in scope and are printed in double columns. The subject matter is arranged under three main headings; papers (greinir og ritgerðir), reports and comments (frásagnir og viðmerkingar), and book rewievs (bókaummæli). As in previous volumes of the annals, the scientific investigation of various subjects will be included in the papers. The topics dealt with under the heading of reports and comments will be of widely varying character; for example, reports on research, interim results, discussion and comment on the articles in the annals etc. The book reviews will consist of reviews of scientific works concerning the Faroes or Faroese affairs. Every tenth year a synopsis of the contents of the annals of the previous ten years will be issued.
