Abstract
The author describes some well known underground streams from the Faroe Islands running along the boundary plane between till and peat. He points out that the origin of che stream bed must be lateglacia.lpreboreal, the stream has eroded its bed down into the tiill and up into the overiying peat. Fig 1, 2, 3 show a section through one of these streams at the roadside near Oyndarfjør5ur, Fig 4, 5, 6, 7 the ground above the same stream. In Fig 5 and 6 the overlying peat roof has collapsed.
