Abstract
Resting on a thorough description of the ruin is with archaological analyses demonstrated that this monument probably has been completed and with that also came into use as the cathedral of the Faroe Islands. Architectural comparisons point out an influence from Norway and the dating - in the early part of the 14th. century - is based on comparisons vith Norwegian and English monuments. With that in mind bishop Erlendur is in the foreground as a supposed promoter for this monumental work.
