í Taxatiónsprotokollini er eitt jarðarnavn í Sandavági skrivað Strapulið. Nøkur nøktandi frágreiðing um hvørjum navnið kemur av og hvør upprunamerkingin er, hevur ikki verið kend. I greinini verður skotið upp at tulka navnið sum eina samanseting av stræti og lið. Abstract
A name of piece of land is found in Taxationsprotokol (Valuation register) from 1873 written Strapulið. Any exhaustive explanation of the origin of the name is not known. It is suggested in this article that it is possible to interpret the name as a compound with stræti + lið, where the first part of the compound has the meaning 'path' that has been there, and the latter refers to a place where the path has past through the border between the cultivated infield and the uncultivated outfield. This border is not to be seen anymore, but Giljarætt ('the sheepfold in Giljar') has once been there down on the bank, and this indicates that there has indeed been a border between infield and outfield.
