Abstract
The present paper deals with a characteristic example of salt fish changing colour because C u + + has affected salt and fish on board a fishing ship. Some of the fish becomes yellow and brown and, consequently, unsaleable. Investigations have shown that this C u + + must liave come from copper parts in the hold, particularly two copper tubes with refrigerant which were placed in a closed wooden pipe in the upper part of the hold, and which connected the refrigerator with the refrigerated hold.
