Abstract
Two archaeological researches at the village of Syðrugotu in Eysturoy.
I. Examination in 1940 of the remains of a cemetery on the shore with two layers of burials on top of each other with an interspace of about 1 meter. Two graves were examined. In one case the coffin(?) was surrounded by a frame of stones, in the other it was also covered with stones. The graves were placed in a south-easterly to north-westerly direction. No finds of antiquities. Presumable mediaevel.
II. Examination in 1950 of a house site high in the old cultivated field, internal measurements 9 meters by 2.50 meters.
