Abstract
On the Faroes lived formerly a raven (white raven) an albinospecies (Corvus corax varius mut.). The author enumerates the first literature about birds on the Faroes which mentions the white raven and he adds still existing local reports on the raven. This raven was formerly common on the Faroes but seems now extirpated and has not been seen since 1916 as far as the author knows. The íigure in the article is from »Icones Rerum Naturalium — 1767 by P. Ascanius.
